University of Utah Marketing and Communications is looking for a talented videographer/editor who can craft beautiful videos. We are looking for someone with high-taste values and a strong understanding of composition, camera movement, lighting and sound. We edit on Adobe Premier and we value great editing. Must know your way around After Effects as well and have a good eye for color grading. Piloting a drone is a plus and being capable in still photography as well. You need to be a collaborative-type of person and to be able to take direction. Since you’ll be working for a university, a college degree is looked upon very favorably. You will need to submit a reel of your work or upload some links so we can check out your amazing artistry. This is a great place to practice your craft with plenty of opportunities to create a variety of video genres. -This role will develop creative and compelling video content for recruitment, internal and external communications. The videographer position requires a strong and demonstrated understanding of all aspects of videography production including production planning, lighting, audio, and editing.
-The videographer is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency across all projects.
-This position will actively participate in brainstorming and planning sessions with co-workers and clients to develop video-related projects that support the university’s overall marketing campaign and messages.
-This job will also serve as the university’s photographer and photo editor as needed.
-This position will report to the Creative Director

Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education). Four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Experience conducting interviews is a plus.
