What part will you play?
The Standards & Practices Editor is responsible for ensuring that program content for TBS, TNT and TruTV adheres to the Network's guidelines. The SE will use excellent analytical skills to evaluate all levels of content, including profanity, suggestive dialogue, vulgar slang, slurs, sexual situations, and violence.
What will you be doing?
Reviewing outlines, scripts, storyboards, animatics, and screening video cuts for TBS, TNT and TruTV's programs including acquired films, live shows, live-to-tape and late-night shows.
Creating detailed content notes
Communicating with Production teams to identify any necessary edits; and recommending the appropriate TV Parental Guideline Rating to the Network's Programming group.
Maintain a thorough understanding of the S&P Guidelines and apply those standards effectively across a variety of genres, for live-action and animated content.
Have a keen awareness of edgy programming across a variety of broadcast/cable networks and delivery platforms.
Take detailed notes on competitor programming, in order to identify trends in what our competitor networks allow and make recommended changes to the guidelines as needed.
What do we require from you?
Must be highly organized and possess strong time management skills in order to successfully meet pressing deadlines and adjust to the volume of work.
Analytical thinking, communication skills, both verbal and written, deductive reasoning, accountability, attention to detail and decision-making.
Extremely detail oriented with excellent grammar skills.
Descriptive writing ability is a must.
Experience in network S&P, television or film production is strongly preferred.
Determined and well organized with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Must possess a well-rounded knowledge and genuine passion for pop-culture and television programming.
Must be a team player and self-starter who is comfortable and confident in raising issue with, and discussing content that depicts sexual situations, profane language, violence, etc. in a professional manner with other network departments.
Must have ability to evaluate and assess production content with an open mind and an unbiased perspective.
A good sense of humor is essential.
