Seeking a highly creative, collaborative and innovative communications professional to develop news and feature content in support of the Purdue University College of Agriculture, ranked among the world's top 10 agriculture programs. Candidate must be skilled as a reporter, writer and editor with basic skills in photography, video and social media. Responsibilities will include copywriting, communications planning, media relations and content development for print and electronic media platforms.

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing, Public Relations, Education or a related degree.
Three years of relevant work experience as a journalist, organizational communicator or related experience.
Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience.
Knowledge and understanding of organizational communications strategies and outcomes.
Strong writing, editing and interpersonal communication skills.
Working knowledge of traditional and emerging media channels.
Highly developed organizational and creative problem-solving skills.
Ability to meet deadlines consistently, particularly those requiring quick-turnaround.
Ability to think critically and analytically.
Ability to work independently and across teams.
Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
A passion for personal and professional growth.
Valid US or Canadian driver's license.
Familiarity with graphic design elements, such as infographics.
Some nights and weekends to cover events required.

We are Purdue University Northwest, part of the internationally-respected Purdue University system and the fifth-largest public university in the state of Indiana On February 26, 2014, Purdue University announced a plan to unify the administration of the university’s two northwest Indiana campuses, Purdue Calumet and Purdue North Central. On July 18, 2014, the Purdue Board of Trustees approved Purdue University Northwest as the name of the unified Calumet and North Central campuses. Dr. Thomas Keon, Chancellor of Purdue Calumet, was appointed Chancellor-Designate of Purdue Northwest on November 20, 2015. Once unification is complete, Purdue Northwest will be a comprehensive university enrolling more than 15,000 students, employing more than 1,500 faculty and staff, and offering more than 70 graduate and undergraduate programs of study on two campuses.
