Duties: The Assignment Editor/Producer - Newsource Digital role is part of the digital component of CNN Newsource. It is responsible for ensuring CNN Wire and CNN VAN affiliates get the best, most comprehensive and compelling digital content in a timely manner. Work includes: partnering with the digital teams at local affiliates to gather regional news stories and photos; using CNN Digital and video resources to find and generate relevant still images to enhance the visual presentation of CNN Wire content; ensuring all eligible content from CNN Digital and CNN Money are published to Newsource Digital affiliates in a timely fashion; combining editorial judgment, product awareness and digital news skills to better align CNN Wire and CNN VAN content to enhance the presentation and revenue potential of both products; producing the regional sections of the CNN.com U.S page to increase traffic for both CNN and affiliate partners; providing prompt, helpful and courteous service to affiliate subscribers; utilizing various social media platforms to engage with affiliates and curate, highlight and promote CNN Digital, Newsource and affiliate partners. The Newsource Digital AE/P's work closely with CNN Rights and Clearances, Legal and Standards and Practices to ensure all Newsource-related content strictly abides by the editorial, legal and standards and practices of CNN. Qualifications: One to three years of news experience as a web producer, assignment editor, or similar role. Experience at a local affiliate and/or digital news platform preferred. Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS), Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, VizRT, is a plus. Strong editorial awareness and news judgment a must. Social media savvy required. SEO, SMO and Omniture or other analytics knowledge is a bonus. Must have good customer service and people skills. BA/BS/BFA degree, preferably in journalism, new media or a related field.
