Multi-media editors work with analytic authors and technical and publishing specialists to edit, format, and disseminate various geospatial intelligence reports according to established agency publication policies, the Writers Guide and Style Manual for Geospatial Intelligence Production, and ODNI sourcing standards for GEOINT products. The Contractor shall provide a full range of support in the production and dissemination of finished GEOINT products, specifically editing intelligence documents, working with analytic customers (authors) to determine the appropriate reporting mechanism for conveying GEOINT to external customers, and managing the production of GEOINT products. These services include, but are not
limited to:
Review, analyze, and correct draft material for clarity, consistency, style, format, logic, and organization, as well as grammar, word usage, spelling, and punctuation.
Review products dealing with complex analytical intelligence issues and provide guidance to geospatial intelligence analysts and other editors regarding logic, clarity, comprehensiveness, relevance, and brevity.
Verify classifications provided by analysts or direct them to classification management teams.
Support the production and dissemination of finished GEOINT products by working with analytic customers (authors) to determine the appropriate reporting mechanism for conveying GEOINT to external customers, editing intelligence documents, and managing the production of GEOINT products.
Work closely with analysts, from the early stages of manuscript development through the entire publishing process, (includes final reviews of text, graphics, and other formats for intelligence products) to help them organize and refine analytic content into an effective product.
Edit documents and manage the production of intelligence analysis cables, Intelligence Briefs, GEOINT Notes, Baselines, briefing materials and visual aids, and other products, as required.
Work on multiple projects with simultaneous deadlines under fast-paced conditions; must be available to perform duties in a multiple-shift environment, as necessary.
Perform structural, substantive, and copy edits of analytical manuscripts for organization, completeness, logic, accuracy, and compliance with language, style, formatting.
Produce, process, and disseminate documents in many hardcopies, softcopy, and web formats and ensure compatibility with a variety of computer systems and telecommunications networks.
Coordinate and disseminate finished intelligence products as required.
Provide quality control in accordance with policy and standards for intelligence products.
Attend regularly scheduled editor and production support meetings and stay current with ongoing production support initiatives.
Review product metadata for completeness.
Demonstrate customer service excellence by clearly and concisely communicating work status, methods, instructions, problems, requirements, options, and concerns with team members, managers, and customers within the Intelligence Community.
Participate in meetings with customers, team members, Contractors, and others to exchange information, make decisions, and/or provide updates.
Support the office and other branches in accomplishing the agency's overall mission, including expediting crisis work, special assignments, and ad hoc tasking on variously scheduled arrangements.
ALL POSITIONS REQUIRE AN ACTIVE TS/SCI.
Journeyman:
These services require contractor personnel who are competent in their trade with typical experience being in the 3-10 year range. This level is considered the full-performance level. A bachelor's degree in a field related to the support services may count for up to four years of this experience. The government may request proof of this education and justification of how it meets the requirements of these services.
A journeyman should be expected to work with minimal oversight. A journeyman should be fully capable of meeting most services without direction. Government and/or contractor personnel may still perform quality control and quality assurance checks on their work but should not find significant errors. Journeyman level contractor employees are expected to assist apprentice level personnel in learning their trade. Journeyman level contractor employees also are expected to collaborate with government and contractor personnel in the IC in the performance of services. Such collaboration should provide accurate technical information that contributes to synergized analysis that is better than the sum of the individual parts. Journeyman level contractor personnel should regularly provide division level support and may periodically be called upon to provide support at the office level.
Requirements:
3-10 years of relevant experience
A bachelor's degree in a field related to the support services may count for up to four years of this experience
Working knowledge of worldwide web and multimedia technologies
Familiarity with basic product design principles
Strong computer skills and proficiency on PC platforms.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Experience in using electronic publishing and structured authoring software, specifically FrameMaker SGML
Familiarity with the following applications: QuarkXpress, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, and Sun Applix.
Senior:
These services require contractor personnel who are advanced in their knowledge and skills in their fields and have demonstrated this knowledge and skill in previous work. Typical experience at this level would include 11-20 years of experience. A bachelor's degree in a field related to the support services may count for up to four years of this experience. A master's degree in a field related to the support services may count for up to two additional years of this experience. The government may request proof of this education and justification of how it meets the requirements of these services.
A senior should be expected to work with no oversight. A senior should be fully capable of meeting all services required without direction. Seniors will be capable of providing direction to lower level contractor employees (apprentice and journeyman) and of performing quality control and quality assurance checks on other employees' work. Seniors may provide oversight of fellow contractor employees from their own company. Seniors are expected to provide advice to government leadership on processes, procedures, technology, and items of interest. Seniors are also expected to lead collaboration across IC analysts in the performance of services. Such collaboration efforts should lead to better-synergized analysis than the sum of the individual parts. Seniors should provide senior-level support to office level leadership.
Requirements:
11 years of relevant experience
A bachelor's degree in a field related to the support services may count for up to four years of this experience. A master's degree in a field related to the support services may count for up to two additional years of this experience.
Strong computer skills and proficiency on PC platforms.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience in using electronic publishing and structured authoring software, specifically FrameMaker SGML
Familiarity with the following applications: QuarkXpress, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, and Sun Applix.
Comfort in working with advanced computer hardware and software technology and databases.
Demonstrates oral and written communication skills.
