With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA-Tencor to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA-Tencor's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA-Tencor’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers.
The LS-SWIFT Division of KLA-Tencor’s Global Products Group provides patterned wafer inspection systems for high-volume semiconductor manufacturing. Its mission is to deliver market-leading cost of ownership in defect detection for a broad range of applications in the production of semiconductors. Customers from the foundry, logic, memory, automotive, MEMS, advanced packaging and other markets rely upon high-sample wafer inspection information generated by LS-SWIFT products.
LS (Laser Scanning) systems enable cost-effective patterned wafer defect detection for the industry’s most sophisticated process technologies deployed in leading-edge foundry, logic, DRAM, and NAND fabs. SWIFT (Simultaneous Wafer Inspection at Fast Throughput) systems deliver all-wafer-surface (frontside, backside, and edge) macro inspection that is critical for automotive IC, MEMS, and advanced packaging processes as well as foundry/logic and memory fabs.
LS-SWIFT operates from a global footprint that includes the US, Singapore, India and Germany, and serves a worldwide customer base across Asia, Europe and North America.
We are looking for a seasoned engineering leader for leading a 100 software engineering organization in a dynamic, fast paced technology environment. The successful candidate will have a proven track record building platforms and scaling engineering performance while executing critical software programs.
Working cross functionally in a matrixed organization, you will apply keen technical understanding, appreciation for simplicity and quality, systems thinking, and a bit of elbow grease to create solutions for semi-conductor wafer inspection products. He/she must be an excellent leader with a passion for developing high performance teams that thrive on exceeding customer expectations.
Build and Lead a high performing engineering organization with a strong leadership bench
Lead a talented and globally distributed software engineering team in execution of a broad portfolio of products
Collaborate with customers, internal stakeholders, and other R&D teams/business functions to develop and implement a cohesive and impactful software product strategy
Drive the technical direction of the platform and applications
Provide thought leadership around transformational business opportunities
Support technical innovation and lead the creation, continual refinement, and active enforcement of our development standards to ensure that our technology can be leveraged as a sustainable competitive advantage
Provide leadership to software development managers, addressing technical, resource and personnel issues.
Participate in staff recruitment, performance assessments, training, and career development. Provide mentoring to senior staff.
12 years of experience in increasing levels of responsibility managing applications development, solution design and delivery, and process improvement.
Ability to define vision for software group and develop a strategy to achieve business goals
Ability to work effectively and achieve results across functional areas in a work environment with a high rate of change
Broad understanding of various hardware product development technologies and trends; developer preferences and challenges required
Experience developing, delivering, deploying and maintaining software products in a IP sensitive environment preferred.
Extensive experience developing software products both in a Phase Gated Product Development process as well as modern Agile execution and administration methodologies such as Scrum required
Ability to establish strong personal connections, foster relationships, cultivate and inspire a team
Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with other teams across the organization.
Experience developing long term customer relationships with customers/users to understand key requirements, use cases, and needs.
Must be committed to ensuring excellence and success of our offshore development centers
Strong management and analytical skills
Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
Experience managing a software organization of 40 people.
Knowledge of the semiconductor industry, particularly use of wafer inspection as a means of process monitoring preferred
Doctorate (Academic) with at least 12 years of experience OR
Master's Level Degree with at least 14 years of experience OR
Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 15 years of experience
