Job SummaryThe Communications and Media Buying Associate negotiates, purchases, and monitors print, digital and social advertising space for the Retirement Solutions Division of Pacific Life. Identifies target audiences, prepares advertising schedules, coordinates the launch of media campaigns with marketing, communications, and sales departments, and monitors and optimizes the effectiveness of campaigns. Additionally, this role integrates key marketing campaigns and messages into weekly internal and monthly external facing communications such as e-newsletters and press releases, and manages these ongoing projects from start to finish.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with marketing and product teams to determine content and project manage weekly internal e-newsletter to division employees, as well as external communications to customers, such as monthly e-newsletters and press releases.Evaluate, purchase and negotiate advertising space for print, digital and social ad placements. Must cultivate strong relationships with advertising sales agents and publishers to obtain best prices and placements. Develop annual advertising and press release strategy by collaborating with internal departments on messaging and analyzing metrics. Continually analyze results to optimize effectiveness resulting in the most exposure to the right audience and the lowest cost Collaborate with the digital analytics role to determine results of ad campaigns and inform leadership of results and any changes to strategy with new expected outcomes Stay current on social ad buying trends Minimum Qualifications and ExperienceExcellent communication skills and extremely well-organizedMust be able analyze research and data, pare down to relevant insights, plan the media and then clearly and succinctly communicate the plan to internal executive staff.Ability to manage multiple projects at different stages concurrentlyMust have strong Excel skillsSelf-motivated and self-monitoringTwo to five years experience in media buying, marketing communications or similar roleBA in advertising, marketing or equivalent fieldSeries 6 license a plus
