The Media Strategist supports the day-to-day operations of the Company’s media initiatives in collaboration with the media agency of record and the larger integrated media team. These duties include, and are not limited to, the execution and measurement of strategic media plans for hotel, entertainment, food & beverage, nightlife, retail, attractions, weddings and partnerships across offline and digital channels. The Media Strategist will assist with the execution and evaluation of programmatic media buying and optimization using multi-channel measurement strategies for MGM Resorts International campaigns. Additionally the Media Strategist will be a resource for tech support, tagging, attribution, and pixel governance. All duties are to be performed in accordance with company policies, practices, and procedures.
Research, strategy, execution and measurement of interactive and offline media campaigns.
Manage the review of new media publishers in coordination with media AOR, advertising opportunities and analytic vendors; providing POV summaries in follow-up to the review process.
Assist in in-market and programmatic vendor selection, test campaigns and the execution of agreements, including legal terms with publishers.
Build new campaigns within the ad server and traffic tags for media and search placements with an expedited turnaround.
Provide insights on success and areas of optimization within interactive media buys through the use of campaign tracking tools, path to conversion analysis, attribution modeling and website analytics.
Audit publisher expenses and consistent ad delivery to ensure accuracy within invoices and contracts across all channels.
Prepare property and department presentations, consolidating information across Revenue Management, Ecommerce, Direct Marketing, Brand Marketing and Social Media for easy consumption.
Ensure accuracy and timely delivery of media and creative grids across multiple media channels; collaborating with the Brand Marketing team to ensure proper brand and venue rotation for both paid and owned placements.
Research and build understanding of current trends, market conditions, new technologies and advancements within the media space.
Assist with implementation/execution/operations of media campaign efforts through programmatic platforms.
Execute offline media buys across various channels with multiple media partners; collaborating with both internal (Property Marketing/Entertainment Marketing) and external teams (Promoters) to ensure that business objectives are met.
Research emerging digital and offline media opportunities and trends.
Performs other job related duties as requested.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or Business Management or equivalent education and experience.
At least 1 year of experience in direct marketing, advertising, media or brand marketing experience including implementation of offline, digital, mobile or emerging campaigns.
At least 1 year of experience working with a digital ad serving platform for reporting and/or campaign setup.
At least 1 year of experience in digital marketing and/or advertising strategy with proven success, preferably within the travel industry.
Working knowledge of using media and digital technologies within marketing and advertising campaigns.
Excellent customer service skills.
Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
At least 1 year of experience negotiating and buying media.
At least 1 year of experience in digital campaign optimization techniques and analysis.
Working knowledge and experience leveraging integrated media campaigns in support of larger integrated media campaigns within the Hospitality and/or Gaming industries.
Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
