What part will you play?
The Senior Manager will be a part of a Client Insights team within Turner Portfolio Research, supporting Ad Sales
The team will cover key areas: - Cross-functional portfolio team (sales, publicity, marketing) to develop optimal portfolio positioning - Sales, Content Partnerships and Turner Ignite to develop strategic plans and outcome based solutions for clients
What will you be doing?
Manage Analysts and/or Senior Analysts to include their development, providing coaching and feedback, performance management and providing day to day oversight including directing, assigning and prioritizing work
Oversees the day-to-day production and release of all portfolio research information related to the sales organization's requirements
Select and control the activities of third party research and data providers including research through social media platforms or affinity panels
Dynamically leads meetings and initiatives with both internal and external clients
Reports directly to Director or VP level
What do we require from you?
Demonstrates an ability to understand client business strategies
Proactively identifies potential ad sales leads and provides insights about specific strategies to win business
Proactively develops new ideas to solve business problems for internal and external clients
Look outward for new ideas and industry trends
Leads and coordinates insights from multiple lines of business to present a complete picture of the portfolio assets
Work with portfolio sales executives in NY, LA, Chicago, Atlanta and Detroit to pitch and win business from new and existing clients
Utilizes both syndicated and custom research to understand consumer behavior relating to media and to brands
Gives working-level direction to analysts and/or senior analysts as the project lead
The ideal candidate for this position should have well rounded cross-platform research / analytics experience, and be interested in a broad range of industry topics. 8 years of experience at a media organization with linear and digital properties or at an agency in research / strategy are required
8 years of relevant work experience required, including linear, digital and/or direct-to-consumer research experience
Bachelor's degree required with communications, media, marketing or mathematics degree preferred
Strategic Thinker with strong research and analytical skills
Solid understanding of and experience with software applications that extract data from primary sources (i.e. Lake5, Npower, StarTrak/Multitrak, MRI, comScore, SMI, AdIntel, Nielsen Media Impact, Adobe Analytics, ListenFirst, Pathamatics) etc
Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel
Familiarity with PowerPoint, Pivot Tables and Macros, Data Visualization tools is a plus
Prior experience managing people is required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills to present insights and recommendations persuasively, in a compelling, easy to understand manner
Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
Demonstrates the ability to collaborate, meet deadlines, and produce accurate, detailed results
