Description: The Government Affairs Research Analyst reports to the Director of Operations and will be responsible to provide research and analytical support for Government Affairs Senior Leadership on US Government, political, legislative and regulatory issues of importance to the company. Responsibilities will include:-Strategic project development and analytical support for SVP presentations, to include organizing, writing, and conducting quality review of materials such as briefings, speeches, executive-level presentations and other written communications. -Coordinating, developing, and tracking executive preparation materials for Corporate leadership in advance of all interactions, meetings, and events with the Executive Branch, Congress, industry-related associations, and state and local officials. -Interfacing with stakeholders across the business to generate artifacts on policy and program related data that inform the strategic and tactical direction of the organization.-Monitoring the federal and/or state legislative and regulatory affairs environment and incorporate within the development of communication content.-Support special projects from SVP, Director of Operations and other departments within the organization as required.Desired Skills: • • Prior experience supporting defense policy issues.• Proficiency in public policy research and analysisAdvance on Microsoft office suite• High level of proficiency in presentation development, design and preparation. • Able to work without constant supervision• Self starter Basic Qualifications: Experience of at least two years in government or private sector organization with government relations or marketing focus• Exceptional written communication and presentation development skills with proven experience supporting headquarters staff or senior level executive or congressional leaders• Ability to take complex information from multiple sources, storyboard the presentation, and create executive level presentations• Proficient on Microsoft office suite•Efficient and effective planning and organizational skills, including extraordinary attention to detail•The ability to multi-task and work well under deadline pressure•College degree in political science, marketing, business, or communications Lockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
