Box Office Jobs

A box office person assists with the management of an efficient box office operation for all major performing arts, cultural or athletic events. A box office person must frequently exercise independent judgment and initiative. A box office person assists box office manager with coordination of all box office activities including cash handling, accounts management, fiscal reporting and computer systems management. A box office person supervises students and temporary employees during a major portion of the employees work time. A box office person processes ticket sales at box office and by mail. A box office person acts as an intermediary for supervisor with internal and external contacts to resolve problems and respond to policy or procedural questions, and also processes confidential information. A box office person makes decisions which affect the effectiveness of the department. A box office person operates all office equipment and develops, edits, proofs, and compiles manuals, procedures, and correspondence.
A box office person should have a high school or college education and experience in a relevant field. A box office person should have specialized skills to analyze and solve complex problems. A box office person should have the ability to perform responsibility for external and internal relations frequent, important external and/or internal contacts.
